The delievery of oxygen by a LifeFlow Technologies system uses the least invasive methods possible. While hyperbaric treatments rely on delivery in the form of a gas through claustrophobic pressurized chambers, LifeFlow's systems use oxygenated water that is diffused through the surface of the skin. In addition to delivering oxygen by way of the skin through bathing, LifeFlow's systems are also designed to create oxygenated drinking water. While hyperbaric oxygen treatments have well known side effects which include seizures, oxygen toxicity, and damage to the alveoli of the lungs, LifeFlow's systems rely on individuals to simply enjoy bathing in the oxygenated water and drinking refreshing glasses of it throughout the day.

Bathing
The skin is the largest organ of the body. Not only is it a vital part of our immune system, protecting us from the environment surrouding us, it also serves as a method for the body to exchange gases and liquids with the surrounding air. LifeFlow harnesses this process by using the highly oxgenated water created by its systems as a method to diffuse oxygen through the surface of the skin where it disperses throughout the body by way of the bloodstream. Whereas hyperbaric treatments have the nearly identical goal, LifeFlows systems do not require that an individual sit in a pressurized chamber for three hours at a stretch. Instead, since a large volume of water has natural pressure that it creates on a body when one is submerged, this pressure differential allows for the oxygen-rich water to move the oxygen across the membranes of the skin where it makes its way to minute capillaries of the bloodstream.
From there, the oxygen is picked up by the red blood cells (similar to the way the lungs allow) and carried throughout the body. The alveoli of the lungs are highly sensitive to the levels of oxygen. In fact, even slightly higher levels of oxygen can be damaging to these sensitive alveoli leading to lung damage. LifeFlow's systems bypass the lungs and deliver oxygen to the body through the skin. These slightly higher levels of oxygen not only bathe cells that need the vital nutrient, they also deliver a powerful punch that kills many pathogens responsible for infections. Hyperbaric delivery of slightly higher levels of oxygen on the other hand - while beneficial once it reaches the bloodstream, also carry with them the risk of siezures, oxygen toxcity and damage to the lung's sensitive alveoli. Drinking
In almost the exact same way, LifeFlow's oxgenation systems can also deliver oxygen to the body through the simple act of drinking a glass of water. The body is comprised of a lot of water. Exactly how much depends upon your age and whether one is measuring its volume or weight. Infants have as much as 73% water by weight while individuals who have a large amount of body fat may have as little as 45%. The average adult has about 65% water by weight. The body is constanty taking what we drink, filtering it, and then distributing water throughout the body as fluids are eliminated through urination and perspiration.
